David started Stenseth and Samuelson in 1996. His primary areas of expertise are in working with small businesses to establish and maintain accounting and information systems, providing a wide range of business consulting services as well as business income tax planning and preparation. David also provides individual income tax planning and preparation services. He has particular expertise with manufacturers and export incentives and provides compiled and reviewed financial statements for many of his business clients.
David has a passion for providing high quality professional services and believes that those working with the practice must share a commitment to high values, ethics and the application of technology to improve the services that the firm offers.
David is active in the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and has served on its Tax Conference Planning Task Force for the past several years, and was a past chair of the Task Force. He has participated as a panel member in discussions on the application of new technology and software in the accounting firm. David is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and licensed to practice as a CPA in Minnesota and North Dakota.
David lives in the East Metro together with his wife Sheila and daughter Amy.
Mary K Samuelson, CPA

Mary has been engaged in the public accounting profession since 1983. Over the years, she has practiced extensively in small business accounting and in providing individual income tax planning and preparation services. With small businesses, Mary provides accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and taxation services. Her individual services include multi-state tax preparation and in working with rental property and investors.
Mary graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire with a Comprehensive Major in Accounting. Before joining our firm, she worked with McGladrey and Michael P Cusick & Co. Her varied work history includes time as a field agent with the Internal Revenue Service. She has also taught accounting and served two and a half years as Assistant City Clerk -- Treasurer for the City of Hudson.
Mary has been an active volunteer with the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and is licensed as a CPA in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Mary lives in the Hudson, WI area and enjoys participating in the Lions Club and American Legion.

Laurel primarily works with small business and individuals. Her experience with businesses include income tax planning and preparation, accounting, bookkeeping and payroll. Laurel is also extensively involved in working with individuals in their tax planning and preparation. She is experienced with reconstructing incomplete financial records and assists with representing clients under IRS examination.
Prior to joining Stenseth & Samuelson, Ltd, Laurel worked for four different CPA firms where she developed experience working with businesses and individuals and their tax return preparation. She also assisted these firms with their review and audit services.
Laurel lives in the East Metro area with her husband Jeff and three children.
Laurel came to the Twin Cities in 2001 from St. Cloud, MN and joined us in November 2003. She graduated with Honors from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI in 1990 with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and passed the CPA exam on her first attempt that November.

Linda K Burch, EA

Linda brings 23 years of tax and accounting experience to SS&B, with emphasis in income tax preparation, small business consulting and IRS Representation. She combined her firm, Data-Link Accounting, with SS&B in June 2007. Linda is an Enrolled Agent, a certification issued by the Federal Government. The EA designation is attained either by a rigorous test administered by the IRS, or by being an IRS agent for at least five years. Only 17% of first time test takers pass the exam, and Linda was one of them in 1990.
Linda is past president of the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce, and serves currently and has in the past on a number boards of directors.
Linda is a native Minnesotan but has lived in a number of other states as well, notably, California, Texas, Arizona and Missouri. She hails from the University of Minnesota and Arizona State University among others, with study emphasis in accounting and psychology. Linda also owns a small manufacturing company and is a professional writer, both in the hunting/outdoor industry. She now lives in the east metro near her two adult children.
